The Partido de los Trabajadores (Workers' Party) is a Trotskyist party. It is not a member of the Frente Amplio party coalition. The PT presented its own ballot on the 2004 presidential elections. This party occupied the last place in the result of the 2004 elections and it received the 0,02 % of the votes.

The Workers' Party (Partido de los Trabajadores) was founded in 1983, and it was related in its begginings to the Argentine Trotskyist party named "Partido
Obrero" or PO (Worker Party).
Rodolfo Tizzi, 21 Jun 2005
[Editor's note: in Spanish the words Trabajador and Obrero do have similar meaning but not exactly the same one. Both could be translated into English as "Worker". However Trabajador has a more general meaning like "a person who works", while Obrero could be translated as "blue collar worker", a person who works in a factory or something like that.]
The Flag of the Workers' Party of Uruguay is a red flag with the acronym of the party (PT) in yellow "bold" typefont.
